Maria Renée is a visual artist, writer, facilitator, and ecological grief-worker whose work explores animism, connection, place, dreams, and change. All she creates is in collaboration with the living world, particularly the Sonoran Desert ecosystem, where she was born and has lived most of her life. The land is the best teacher.

She has shown art at venues including the University of Arizona Museum of Art, Saguaro National Park, Prescott's Natural History Institute, and the Corvallis Arts Center as well as published multidisciplinary work in the Dark Mountain Project, Cultural Geographies in Practice, Edible Baja Arizona, and Terrain.org.
